Comment: My actual claim/hypothesis is that in some evolutionary transitional humans cerebral iron and possibly magnetite can play a part in the production of telekinetic energy. In those humans a higher level of iron may not be harmful. I never had dangerous iron levels in my body, either circulating in the blood or in storage sites. If my hypothesis is correct, then anyone who has low iron levels would be unable to perform telekinesis.

Uri Geller became a vegetarian in 1978 and thus would likely have begun to have decreased iron levels after that, as the body absorbs iron from meats more efficiently. Any discussion of whether he once had a genuine psychic power and then lost it in the late 1970s and resorted to magic tricks thereafter should take this possible iron explanation into account. He has claimed in some past interviews 1 2 that he needed to be around metal-containing objects to help his power work. I attribute a vegetarian diet I went on for the 45.8% loss of iron in my blood, as verified by blood tests, and the accompanying loss of alleged telekinetic effects seen in my laboratory experiments in October 1999.  — James A.
