20 Famous Skeptics Who Have an Acting Credit on IMDb

One of the standard tools that skeptics have used successfully for over a hundred years to cast doubt about claims of extraordinary scientific phenomena, especially claims made by ordinary people who have no scientific background, is to suggest that the witness or claimant is a fame seeker, that they may just be looking for their 15 minutes of fame, their moment in the celebrity spotlight.

If this tactic should be used against you and you feel it is undeserved, here is a page of research to help you provide a defensive response. All of the famous skeptics listed below have at least one acting credit in the Internet Movie database (IMDb) and thus have a bit of fictional Hollywood pretense on their résumés, with their credibility surviving intact as they act as the gatekeepers of mainstream science.
